Flügel Chemistry ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to providing an elite, open-source, first-principles academic chemistry treatise and exam-mastery platform for students preparing for IIT-JEE, NEET-UG, and Chemistry Olympiads. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how our web application and mobile applications (Android and iOS) handle information.

1. Information We Do Not Collect ​

Flügel Chemistry is built upon a fundamental privacy-first, educational principle: we do not track, profile, monetize, or harvest personal student data.

  • No User Accounts or Sign-ins Required: You can access all 28 curriculum chapters, interactive visual labs, formula cheat sheets, and student toolkits completely anonymously.
  • No Advertising or Commercial Trackers: We do not display third-party advertisements, nor do we partner with ad networks or data brokers.
  • No Telemetry or Behavioral Profiling: We do not track your browsing habits, reading speeds, or keystrokes.
  • No Invasive Device Permissions: Our Android and iOS applications do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, media files, or calendar.

2. Information Handled Locally on Your Device ​

To provide a seamless study experience without requiring server logins, certain features store state strictly on your local device:

  • Study Schedule & Checklist Progress: Checkbox states on the 30-Day Safe-Score Roadmap and formula mastery tracking are saved in your device's browser localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
  • Interactive Tool Settings: State selections in tools such as the Organic Reagent Matchmaker, Unit & Sign Convention Selector, and Quiz drills are processed entirely client-side.
  • Offline Caching: Static web assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, KaTeX fonts, SVG diagrams) are cached locally by your browser or native mobile webview to allow fast, offline-capable studying.

You can clear this local data at any time by clearing your browser cache or app storage data in your device settings.

3. Information You Voluntarily Provide ​

If you choose to contact us via our Contact Editorial Team form or via email (chemistry@flugelsoft.com, editorial@flugelsoft.com), we receive:

  • Your name (or pseudonym)
  • Your email address
  • The content of your inquiry, errata report, or problem submission

This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry, correct reported errors in the treatise, or evaluate academic problem submissions. We never sell, rent, or share your contact information with third parties.

4. Hosting, Infrastructure & Security ​

  • Edge Delivery: Our web platform is distributed globally via Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process basic server logs (such as IP addresses and user-agent strings) transiently for security purposes, DDoS mitigation, and edge performance optimization, in accordance with Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Encryption: All network transmissions between your device and our servers are encrypted using standard HTTPS/TLS (Transport Layer Security).

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance) ​

Our services are educational in nature and suitable for students of all ages. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us via email, please contact us at privacy@flugelsoft.com and we will promptly delete it.

6. Mobile Application Distribution ​

When you download the Flügel Chemistry mobile application through Google Play Store or Apple App Store:

  • App store operators (Google LLC and Apple Inc.) may collect installation telemetry and device diagnostics in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
  • Our application package (com.flugelsoft.chemistry) contains no third-party analytic SDKs (such as Facebook SDK, Google Firebase Analytics, or Adjust).

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy ​

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to our platform or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp.
